IN CASE 2012 WHOOSHES ME AWAY...
Here's My New in Progress Series!
Since only heaven knows what might happen in 2012 (though many are enjoying driving themselves to insanity/fearfulness/intense curiosity/breathless expectation through speculation!), I am submitting this photograph of my new "Merton More" mixed media series in pencil, pen and ink, Copic marker, colored pencil and gold leaf.
I am really working hard on these art pieces, and just in case a tsunami, comet, aliens, God or who/what ever decides to whoosh me (or my house) away, I just wanted to back up my work, at least a little. I wanted to make sure there is a record that I was working on these wonderful and fulfilling works of art. (Of course, I suppose DA or the whole earth could be whooshed away... but this makes me feel a wee bit better, nonetheless). Silly me. Arrg.
This series is still in progress, but you can get a good idea what it will look like from this photograph. The piece on the left is almost finished, so if you use your imagination, you can envision the series when it's completed.
"Why Merton More as the title of my new series?" you might be asking. Well, it contains more detail, more imagination, more muse-following, more attention to meaning/title, more effort, more technique, more color, more shading, etc. I always try to work on these things, but I did so especially with this series.
I am trying with all my being to stretch and improve myself as a fine artist in these new pieces. I want to see a change... a marked difference. I suppose that is a New Year's resolution of sorts, embodied in my newest artistic effort.
I sincerely hope you enjoy these new works, even in their unfinished state. It should be interesting for me and for you, too, to see the progression from their partially completed state at present to the final result.
Happy creating (in this brand new, much ballyhooed year, 2012) to all my friends and viewers here on DA. May you grow, evolve, live and love well, no matter what happens... hopefully, it's something very good!

ps. I really like the one in the lower right hand spot, with the hands and the spheres/orbs. I look forward to it
