I took these photographs of hubby and myself one afternoon in March of 2013. I proceeded to edit them a bit, cropping, changing the contrast and coloration, plus working a bit with the paint tool and smudger here and there to pretty up backgrounds, smooth out skin tone, and overall give in some instances an almost blended and painted effect. I like how they turned out and hope you do, too, dear viewer. I felt that the shoot rather represented the intimacy and love developing day by day between us, as our relationship proceeds.
Life “ain’t no crystal stair” as the poet has said. Nor is it a “rose garden,” as the seventies popular song reminds us. But, relationships add a great deal to life and are the primary way we learn. We let someone into our world, and then the fun, work, intimacy etc. begins. My new hubby and I are at the beginning and are diving in the pool, creating our shared history, and attempting to understand each other.
Oh what a job that can be! But cuddling and being close helps to draw two souls together and smooth out all the rough edges and bumping up against egos, differences in personality and approach to life. This series captures that cuddly intimacy that is so important. I hope you enjoy seeing us together. We enjoyed posing, and I enjoyed the editing process.
