I took these photographs of myself during the same photo shoot which produced the Merton Body and Soul Series, which consists of self portraits, featuring my body and favorite, original, traditional art pieces. The shoot occurred in 2012, weeks before Ascension time. I took the photographs from that shoot which were just my body (plus a few with art pieces that ended up not being used in the Merton Body and Soul grouping) and made a separate series, entitling it, Merton Nudes 2012 Series. I had a lot of fun posing for these pieces and adding a bit of manipulation here and there for aesthetic purposes.

Now I know that 2012 is supposed to be about ascending to 5d earth, with fully activated DNA, a crystalline based body, and a new life and paradigm filled with higher and spiritual things. But Merton has in himself, in addition to a great love of and focus upon spirit, intellect and the arts, a natural propensity for body and eros. Surely there will still be passion, body and eros in the new, golden age! I hope so, for, it is a wonderful thing. It is something very strong in me, and an aspect that I do not consider separate from spirit (or “lower”).

This, of course is my opinion, and I suppose others might disagree. But I find that though 2012 is here and we are weeks from Ascension, I still have my strong sense of body and eros. What can I say? I do and I do not think it is a bad thing! So, here is my new series of manipulated, photographic self portraits. As you can see in the works, the old Merton, filled both with spirit and eros, is well represented and presented.

I hope I ascend and that there is a place in the golden age for body and eros. I am not sure that life on 5d earth will be too much fun without it. In the words of the old song, “I may be wrong, but… I think your wonderful!” That’s my little valentine to eros, weeks before Ascension. Forgive me God and fellow humans, if I am wrong… but I do not think I am.
