My current teaching studio in the back has a nice Clavinova piano. I lay tracks on it for my composing and have it hooked up to a sound board, reverb box, and CD burner. Also there are mics there for the voice and guitars and other stringed instruments (banjitar, ukes, mandolin, etc.) So, it is my recording studio, photography studio, craft studio, art gallery, library, and teaching studio... all in one small bedroom sized space.
I spent a whole week some years ago organizing it to be able to be all of these things. I think it was worth the effort. Figuring out how to make the most of the space available to us is so important, especially to those of us living in little suburban tract houses (and in teeny New York apartments, etc.).
Sounds like a really nice, creative space. Congrats to you.
Organizing the space is important. Especially if it's small. At the moment,it's a mess up there. I just recently finished running new,and rewiring, the whole upstairs. It also has some built in shelves,a bookcase, and a desk type thing that has to be torn out. I want to build new a bookcase,in a different location,to open up the room a bit. It's small, about 10x15 but, that's more than enough room to suit my needs.
I am happy with my space. I would like to have more room, of course, but I have tried to make the most of what I have.
Your plans for your room sound like good ones. Wishing you the best of luck with creating your perfect space!
Sincerely,
Merton
Thanks Merton. Your space sounds pretty comfy too. Too much space isn't good,in my opinion. I prefer a smaller room which, mine is.
Thank you very much! I'm working on it!
