MERTON'S NEW NANS SERIES
(New Art for the New Studio)
Hello, dear fellow DA artists and visitors!
I submit for your viewing pleasure my most recent fine art series. I have entitled it the NANS (New Art for the New Studio), and you will find the entire series in this folder of my gallery (mertonparrish.deviantart.com/g… ). You may also just visit the top of the gallery, where the pieces are featured.
I hope you are in sync with your Muse and are getting lots of creating done. I'm glad to say that, despite all the tumultuous change in my life over the last several years, I have stayed pretty creative, working regularly. I did finish a big batch of art, recently, got it matted/framed and up in the new city studio. And so, here it is, all spruced up, photographed and posted. Hope you like it!

ABOUT THIS SERIES:
This is new art (and a couple older pieces) that I have finished and hung in my new city studio. It looks fantastic, I think. I am enjoying it especially, since it represents a fine tuning and continuing development of my new mixed media style, which incorporates pencil, ink, colored pencil, and Copic marker.
The history of me being in this new studio I relate to you now. In the past several years, I have lost my hubby of fourteen years (who went through his midlife crisis, ceased to be in love, asked to part), my suburban home and studio, doggie, old arthermit life, etc. Then, God sent a new partner that I performed music with, made art with, etc., (which was wonderful), but our personalities were too different. As well, he needed to live nearer to his children (divorced dad).
So, I am all alone, attempting not to be overwhelmed with loss and change. I do have a very nice studio/dwelling, new car, fulfilling work, a new art style, relative good health, some years ahead of me (fifty is the new thirty!), and all sorts of good things in my life. The new studio is lovely, has a garage, and sports lots of interesting folks (younger folks, older, gay, straight, artisty sorts, etc). So, I like it, here, even if I am a little out of breath and bewildered at all the change in my life!
To make my dwelling fit me well and reflect my recent journey and creations, I have just finished and framed/matted many new and some older pieces (that I spruced up with new coloration). So, I am posting them for you to enjoy. Hope you like them. I am happy with them.
